Zoie's Hueft-Sonografie

Heute morgen hatte Zoie ihre Hueft Sonografie. Normalerweise wird diese bei der U3 gemacht, aber der Kinderarzt hatte nicht die noetigen Geraete. Somit sind wir zu einem anderen Kinderarzt gewechselt, der voll ausgestattet ist und noch dazu sehr nett und einfuehlsam mit den Babies umgeht.
Zoie lag auf der Seite in einer speziellen Unterlage fuer die Untersuchung. Sie lag dort recht gemuetlich, und da sie auch gerne bei mir auf dem Arm seitlich schlaeft hat es ihr nichts ausgemacht dort drin zu liegen. Freundlicher Weise war das zu nutzende Gel angewaermt und Zoie hat sich ueberhaupt nicht geruehrt. Sie hat ein bischen gemeckert, aber nur weil sie muede war und ihre Ruhe haben wollte. Auf dem Weg nach Hause hat klein Zoie in die Hose gemacht, und dadurch das sie im Kindersitz sass, war ihre ganze Seite verschmiert. Todmuede, und meckernd hat Mama Zoie schnell gebadet, denn sie war wirklich sehr verdreckt. Wieder sauber hat sie ein paar Minuten geschlafen, hat sich aber kurze Zeit spaeter wieder gemeldet, denn sie hatte Hunger. Frisch gegessen/getrunken ist sie dann aber eingeschlafen und schlummert immer noch schoen.


This morning Zoie had her hip ultrasound. Normally, this is done during the U3 checkup (by the German system), but the first Pediatrician that we visited didn’t have the equipment to perform that part of the check up, so, we changed over to another (highly recommended) Pediatrician.

The new Dr. is great, very friendly and patient with Zoie and willing to explain everything to us and answer all our questions. During the check up, Zoie had to lay, on her side, in a special cushion, she didn’t cry but was a little surprised when the Dr. applied the gel for the ultrasound scanner on her thigh (they warm the gel in a mini bottle warmer so it isn’t so cold). After the Dr. made some measurements and documented them in her record along with the ultrasound pics of her hip socket. Zoie received a Great bill of health and we got a brief but through explanation of what to expect during her next visit for the U4 checkup.

On the way home our little super star really filled her diaper, which started to leak before she was changed. So, with Zoie really tired from the visit to the Dr. and only wanting to get some sleepy-time sleep, Mama had to give her a quick bath, which of course little Zoie didn’t think was necessary and made sure mama knew it!

Afterwards, Zoie fell fast asleep, but only for very short time before she started singing for some lunch. Fully fed, she fell fast asleep, and continued to slumber nicely for a couple hours.
